The Doctors at DCMC have undertaken special training in skin cancer detection and treatment.

Skin cancer is an increasing health concern as climate changes. The Doctors at DCMC have undertaken special training in skin cancer detection and treatment. We offer regular full body examination, or lesions of concerns, utilising photographic examination.  DermEngine is an advanced cloud based analytic software in use here at DCMC.

Examinations by skilled practitioners, regular imaging and targeted excision when necessary, ensure we offer complete and thorough skin care.

Fees can be variable and are determined by the type of excision and the histopathological diagnosis. The charges include an initial treatment room fee and the final procedure fee will generally follow when the pathology results arrive. Procedure fees may vary from Doctor to Doctor as the billing is at their discretion.

Surgical skin cancer treatment is non bulk-billed and will always result in an out of pocket expense decided by the treating doctor based on the site of the lesion, complexity of the procedure and finally the histopathological diagnosis.

Thus, the same procedure may be billed as a process of these factors and on the level of training, qualifications in skin cancer treatment and experience of the treating doctor. It should be appreciated that general practice charges much lower than those charged by private plastic surgeons and the waiting time for public hospital skin cancer treatment is long. Patients will be made aware of the out of pocket expense before any procedures are performed.

Skin cancer checks must be made over the phone. No online bookings.
